TOKYO, JAPAN – August 26, 2013 – The live press conference previewing the company’s upcoming Japanese line-up, LEVEL5 VISION 2013, has concluded. The theme for this year’s show was UZU (meaning “vortex” in Japanese). LEVEL-5 aspires to be at the center of this vortex, taking the industry by storm with its introduction of a gaming revolution, UNIPLAY – a seamless cross-platform gaming experience allowing users the choice of where, when, and how they play a game by accessing a single shared save data from any device. Kicking off the conference was WONDER FLICK, the first of the UNIPLAY titles, followed by the announcement of several new and upcoming projects. Below, we provide a recap of the titles presented at the conference.

WONDER FLICK is the latest full-scale role-playing game from LEVEL-5 and the inaugural UNIPLAY title. The production team consists of Akihiro Hino, who developed the concept and leads the project as producer / director, character designers Takuzo Nagano and Nao Ikeda, and musical compositions by Nobuo Uematsu, world-renowned for his contributions to game orchestrations. The player, “the fortunate one,” washes ashore in Grimnarth, a world that everyone dreamed of, yet no one has ever seen – an enormous land, scattered with dungeons and towns. A land where a monarch seeks aid in order to save his kingdom. A world of peril, where monsters and kings among dragons await. Where the success or failure of a journey depends on the deft execution of skills in critical moments, and fortunes are made from the rare treasures sealed in their chests. A wealth of equipment to customize one’s hero. The borrowing and lending of friends and their characters to form alliances. Everything that defines a traditional RPG is found in WONDER FLICK – the most sprawling yet accessible original fantasy RPG in the history of LEVEL-5. The game is planned for release in November 2013 on iOS and Android devices in Japan. Console releases (PS Vita / PS3 / PS4 / WiiU / Xbox One) are scheduled for 2014 in Japan.

MAJIN STATION is a full-scale mobile MORPG where the player becomes the 69th “Abe no Seimei,” who has the ability to summon and control majins. The goal – occupy Japan’s 9,000 plus nationwide stations by moving the Phantom Train that appears when one plays the Yin-Yang Whistle. Heroic figures glorified in Japanese history, such as Nobunaga Oda, Musashi Miyamoto, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, Ryoma Sakamoto, and Himiko, wait at your destinations. Utilize dark powers to turn them into majins who will join your forces and help you paint Japan black. The one-way trip to drench Japan in evil begins at your local station! The dream team consists of directors Jiro Ishii (LEVEL-5) and Jin Kimura (Razest), majin and concept design by Takeshi Oga and character design by Yusuke Kozaki. LEVEL-5 will also be collaborating with Studio Khara’s digital department, known for the EVANGELION series, to create CG animation that will express the world of MAJIN STATION. The game is being co-developed with Razest for iOS and Android devices in Japan. Release date has yet to be determined.
